Sensor-driven visuals? Hell yeah! We had to share another recap of what we accomplished. From the start, I knew I wanted a cube for one of the acts. For this exclusive NPO 3FM performance with Di-Rect, we created an open cube made from pepper scrim, onto which Jan Willem Campmans and Jaco Schilp projected not just holographic visuals, but sensor-driven visuals. The visuals reacted to the movements of the singer, something that has never been done before on regular Dutch TV in this way.
Projection and sensor-driven visuals by Jan Willem Campmans and Jaco Schilp, produced by Chris van Meer, featuring a performance by Di-Rect.
This project was part of an exclusive performance for NPO 3FM during the 3FM Awards. The centerpiece of the visuals was an open cube made from pepper scrim, allowing for holographic and sensor-driven visuals that responded to the singer’s movements in real time—an innovative approach never seen before on Dutch TV.
The visuals were designed to respond dynamically to the movements of Di-Rect's singer, using sensor-driven technology and projected onto a pepper scrim cube. The creative process involved close collaboration between the visual artists and the performance to ensure the visuals synced perfectly with the live music.
This project used an open cube made of pepper scrim to create holographic effects, combined with sensor-driven technology to make the visuals respond in real time to the performer’s movements. It was a groundbreaking moment for Dutch television, offering a new way to experience live music performances visually.
