Due to COVID restrictions, our friends at the HKU (School of the Arts) in Utrecht were unable to organize a physical exhibition for their graduation students. The LiGHT-UP collective stepped in with a spontaneous idea: projecting the students’ work across the city of Utrecht.
What began as a small gesture for media students quickly grew into a citywide initiative adopted by all faculties. With more than 60 students submitting their graduation projects, we embarked on a projection adventure, bringing their fresh artworks into the public space for all to see.

Using advanced projection technology, the collective turned Utrecht into an open-air gallery, celebrating the resilience and creativity of HKU students during challenging times. The project highlighted the importance of public art and community in supporting young artists and showcasing their talents.
